Laminate flooring is a good looking floor that resembles hardwood. It is also durable, simple to maintain, relatively easy to install and available at a lower cost than natural hardwoods or even some other brands of laminate floor.
Laminate is composed of planks of resin and paper compressed at high density. The planks are then covered with a thin paper sheet printed with a wood grain design or other pattern, then covered with a clear seal coat. These “floating floors” simply rest on top of the sub-floor without being attached in any way.
If installed properly, they will last for many years and offer the same beauty associated with hardwood.
They can easily be installed over existing floors, (regardless of whether it be plywood, concrete or OSB (Oriented Strand Board) by simply floating the laminate tiles over the original flooring. This type of laminate floor would previously have had to be glued to the floor. They now come with tongue-and-groove edges which means that the planks can be interlocked.This will give a complete finish.
Floating laminate wood floors give you the best of both worlds. They are attractive and as tough as hardwood floors as well as easy maintenance . It is no surprise, therefore, that these are gaining in popularity.
